Mavin Records Star Embraces Teaching At Primary School Kaduna

Mavin Records act Di’ja recently took to teaching at a local primary school in Kaduna.

No, she has not abandoned singing; she only took to teaching for charity. Di’ja, born Hadiza Blell, taught a class of 55 students when she visited Kaduna, her mom’s hometown.
While in Kaduna, Di’ja visited radio stations to promote her music and also the school, Husna Academy, where she worked as a stand-in teacher for a whole day.
Di’ja also donated books and other learning materials to the school. The state of the school as seen in the videos is a reflection of the state of the Nigerian education sector.

She shared her experience in the videos below:

Teaching isn’t easy. 55 kids in a class sitting on the floor. No this is not charity! This is our obligation to the world. It is your world too.. Don’t just live in it! You can’t change everything but we can pay it forward. One little drop of change will make a great one. You don’t need a billion dollars to change the world. One small gesture can stay in a child’s mind for many years. LET ART CHANGE the world! When last did u draw with a kid, empower a kid and tell them they are CAPABLE regardless of what side of the tracks they come from! As kids we don’t care about what is fancy and what isn’t we care about learning, about being loved and being attended to, water, our meal and good night’s rest. The little things in life create the big successes we see today!
