Prostitutes Have Taken Over My Community- This Abuja Chief Cries Out

The leader of Utako Community, Abuja, Alhaji Abdullahi Isha, has cried out to the police over the influx of sex hawkers into the community. He lamented that the presence of the prostitutes had also attracted men of shady characters to the community. Isah, who said this during the Federal Capital Territory Eminent Persons Forum organised by the police on Tuesday in Abuja, called on the FCT Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Mustafa, to come to the rescue of his community. The chief expressed displeasure over the activities of the sex hawkers and pleaded with the police authorities to deploy personnel to the community to arrest the development and restore sanity to the area. Taxi Driver Pulls A Gun And Kills Passenger In Public ,His reasons will shock you

A 35-year-old South African taxi driver was arrested by the police. The man was arrested after he allegedly shot and killed a passenger on Tuesday afternoon. The driver and his passenger were just having an argument in Joburg’s CBD when he shot and killed him. The man handed himself over to the police today, said police spokesman Xoli Mbele. Mbele said the taxi driver allegedly shot the passenger once in the upper body with a licensed firearm and then ran away. The victim was declared dead on the scene. He said preliminary investigations led officers to the owner of the vehicle who assisted them with information about the driver. A firearm was recovered from the suspect, he said. The man was expected to appear in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court tomorrow.

The Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, has, Wednesday, suspended its planned data tariff increase. This is following the Senate order to halt the increment as well as the public outcry that greeted the planned action. NCC announced the immediate suspension of the new minimum pricing template for data services by mobile operators saying the decision is to allow for further consultation. Over 20 suspected militants in military camouflage have swooped on Kodjo Farm, located at Igbodu, Epe area of Lagos State and abducted seven persons. Teenager Who Stole Church Offering Remanded In Prison

A Tinubu (Lagos) Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday remanded a 19-year-old man, Stephen John, in prison for stealing N31,000 offering from a Catholic Church. The Magistrate, Mrs. F.O. Ikobayo. said John should be remanded in Ikoyi prison after he pleaded guilty to a three-count charge of conspiracy, breaking, entry and stealing. She adjourned the case to December 2 for facts and sentencing. Earlier, the prosecutor, Inspector Nurudeen Thomas, had told the court that the accused committed the offence on November 16 at about 11p.m in a Catholic Church at Elegbata, Apongbon area of Lagos. He said that John and two others, who are still at large, broke into the church and stole N31,000, church offering. “He was caught by a security guard, while the others escaped,’’ he said; adding that the offences contravened sections 285, 305 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

Senate pledges to intervene in plans to increase cost of data

As anger trails NCC directive to telcos to hike tariff Nigerians have reacted angrily to the recent directive by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to telecom operators to increase the tariff for data services, with several of them calling on the National Assembly to intervene in the matter. In reaction to the NCC directive, MTN has started sending out bulk messages to its subscribers alerting them of the planned increase. The text message read:  “Dear customer, please be informed that from 1st Dec, some MTN data tariffs will be increased to reflect the new rates set by the NCC to operators. Thank you.”  Sources indicate that the new rate could see subscribers of MTN, GLO, AIRTEL & Etisalat paying as much as N1000 for 500 megabytes instead of the 1 gigabyte, 1.5 gigabytes or 2 gigabytes they currently get, depending on the network.  There could be charges for other telecom services in the country in order to meet the reported proposition by Godw...

76 people including Brazilian footballers have been confirmed killed in the passenger plane that crashed early this morning (Nigerian time). The plane was carrying 81 people including Brazilian international footballers, (Chapecoensea football club), their technical team, media personel and others and were on their way from Bolivia to Columbia for a football match when it crashed. Five people are said to have survived. The plane was chattered in Bolivia from a small airline. Ramey, has been arrested for the rape and murder of an eight-year-old girl, Sabrina Stauffenberg, who was snatched from her front porch as she waited for a ride to church. Police found Sabrina's body on Wednesday by tracing her cell phone signal. According to MailOnline; friends of the family told Fox News that Ramey, who has mental health problems, was dating a relative of the child. Sabrina’s stepmother also confirmed to DailyMail that the rapist is a friend of the child’s father.  Shortly before Sabrina's disappearance, she had called her Grandmother to let her know that the church bus was late to pick her up. 4 Dead As Cultist Clash In Auchi, Edo State

No fewer than four persons have been reported dead in a renewed cult clash between members of Black Axe and Eiye confraternities in the polytechnic town of Auchi in Edo State. According to the Guardian, it was learnt that the fresh war began Thursday after the completion of the end of the session examination by the federal higher institution of learning. It was also leant that one of the victims was killed along the Benin-Auchi-Okene highway while the rest three were killed in different locations on the school premises. The cause of the latest fracas, it was learnt, followed a disagreement among some members of the two rival groups at the graduation party of an unnamed student on that fateful day. For years, the management of the polytechnic had banned end-of-session partying or celebration on the school premises to forestall violent clashes. The corpse of a three year old boy whose penis cut off was on Saturday November 26th abandoned under a bridge on the Abuja-Lokoja road in Gwagwalada. Residents of the area believe s‎suspected ritualists had kidnapped the little boy elsewhere, cut off his penis and dumped his remains under the bridge. The three women who were forced to walk through the streets of Huatabampo in North- Western Mexico, were accused of stealing from unsuspecting people. The unidentified women were accused of also doing other ‘illegal things’ and were shamed publicly as a result of their actions. Their pictures have since circulated round social media. Speaking on the incident, the City Mayor Heliodoro Soto told a local media outlet: “Apparently this was a conflict started by young women who do not work in a legal line of work and who robbed other people who also do illegal things.There have been no complaints about this. These women preferred to take shelter within their families and we understand the pain and shame they are feeling, but it is important for authorities to have written complaints so they can exact justice.”
