A farmer, Martyn Steedman and his wife Louise have transformed a military helicopter which they reportedly bought from UK Ministry of Defense's online auction in March, into an exquisite home. According to reports, the couple spent nearly £40,000; approximately (N22.6m), to convert this singular helicopter into a luxury accommodation for the family to live in. More photos after the cut.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, today Oct 31st, arraigned former Governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu, before a Federal High court in Lagos over money laundering charges. Kalu who was governor of the state between 1999 and 2007, had approached the Court in Abuja to stop the EFCC from prosecuting him in Lagos, but his request was denied.

A terrible accident happened today (Sunday 30 October 2016‎) around 4:00pm involving a fourteen seater bus and a car, the bus had a burst tyre while on motion, and ran into the car. The two passengers in the car lost there life on the spot, while five other people from the bus was burnt beyond recognition. With the help of some road safety officers, police officers and some passers-by, we were able to carry those alive to OAU teaching hospital and seven days adventist both in ife, two others life’s were lost when we got to hospitals, doctors and nurses are attending to others. If the emergency system in this country was fast and reliable, we would have been able to save more souls. According to the report, the suicide bomber was shot dead by vigilant soldiers who opened fire on him causing one of the two bombs around his body to go off. Alhaji Dan-Batta, a top leader of the Civilian-JTF, told Premium Times: “The male suicide bomber was seen loitering around the back perimeter fence of Bakassi camp at about 9 a.m. He was shot down before he could advance closer to the camp. One of the bombs he was carrying exploded, but another is still strapped on his body did not explode. The plot to remove Chief John Odigie-Oyegun as chairman of the All Progressives Congress is thickening as there are reports he will be named as an ambassador soon. Vanguard reports that some insiders in the party are accusing the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal of working with the Asiwaju Bola Tinubu camp to remove the chairman. Lawal is reportedly urging President Muhammadu Buhari to remove Oyegun and replace him with someone else. He has however denied the allegation insisting it was the president’s duty to appoint ambassadors. “I do not know anything about the chairman’s ambassadorial as such are made by the president. The woman’s identity is not verified but she has become the talk of social media users. 97 migrants, mostly African nationals including three women and a child, are believed to have perished on Wednesday, October 26th, when a rickety inflatable boat carrying them fell apart in the Mediterranean Sea and capsized off the coast of Libya. The migrants left Tajoura, in western Libya, before dawn on Wednesday morning. A patrol of the Coast Guard received an SOS call from Libyan oil tanker Anwaar Al-Khaleej warning about an imminent drowning of an illegal immigrants' boat. The spokesman for the navy, Ayoub Gassim said the boat tore and began filling with water about 42 kilometres (26 miles) off Libyan coast. The Libyan coast guard rescued 29 survivor out of the 129 in the boat. "The staff onboard the tanker managed to save 29 immigrants while the remaining 97 ones, including 3 women and a child, drowned." The Coast Guard said.
