The 2016 edition of the MTV Video Music Awards was held yesterday in New York’s Madison Square Garden. Beyonce was the biggest winner at the award show, winning a total of eight awards, six for her song “FORMATION” off her album “LEMONADE”. Other winners are Calvin Harris, Drake and Fifth Harmony. A man in Imo state has been arrested for stabbing his neighbor to death for selling him a phone with a faulty battery. Facebook user, Blossom Emechebe shared the sad story. An 11-year-old table tennis player, Denis Adeleye, is set to represent Nigeria at the African Junior Table Tennis Championship which will hold in Morocco in October, 2016. Ekiti-State born Adeleye, whose preparation for the competition is at top gear, visited the Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Ayodele Fayose, at the governor’s office at Ado-Ekiti, on Thursday and expressed hope of returning victorious. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) says it will soon commence the uploading names of candidates who have been offered admission into tertiary institution on their website. The board’s Head, Media and Information, Dr Fabian Benjamin, made the disclosure in an interview with newsmenon Friday in Lagos. According to him, the board will ensure that Nigerian children are not unjustly denied admission in any institution of their choice. A pretty woman was on Thursday afternoon disgraced and paraded in the streets of the suburban setting for stealing Ksh.5, 000 from a Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) client.  The suspect was caught on closed-circuit television (CCTV) stealing Ksh.5, 000 from a lady’s bag when the client had gone to fill deposit slips a few metres away. Speaking about the incident, KCB Ruiru branch operations manager Moses Mwanza said the woman has been arrested and she is being held at Ruiru Police Station.   The suspect was taken round Ruiru town with a placard written: “I am a thief. Mimi ni mwizi.” hung on her neck. CCTV footage showed the suspect was part of a three-member female gang. The other two managed to escape and authorities are looking for them.

Pastor Kokih Emmanuel of the Cross Over Ministry in Kedjom Kekuh, Tubah sub division in Mezam in the North West region, Cameroon, has been arrested and remanded in custody for impregnating two sisters. 18 year old Akombom Marie Claire is 6 months pregnant while her younger sister Brenda Nyingmah, 14, is 3 months pregnant for the said pastor. The 29-year-old pastor accepted all the allegations and charges brought against him after police investigation. PM News is reporting that the prices of food items have crashed in Hadejia, Jigawa state. Quoting News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), PM News reports that the crash in food price is as a result of ‘a significant increase in the supply of agricultural produce to the market’. According to investigations by NAN on Tuesday at Hadejia market, food prices were down by about 30 percent. Now, a bag of millet goes for N14, 000 as against N18, 000 while a bag of paddy rice went for N8, 500 as against its previous price of N11, 000. Maize and sorghum were sold at N11, 000 and N13, 000 down from their old prices of N15, 000 and N17, 000, respectively. It also also reports that farmers recorded high yields due to appreciable rainfall and good weather condition recorded this cropping season. A man has shocked people with his unbelievable act of pedophilia after he was found out to have r*ped a little girl. The man identified as one Malami Yusuf, has been arraigned in court.
