An 18-year-old boy, Endurance Akpan , has been arrested and paraded by the Akwa Ibom State Police Command for allegedly murdering his mother, Lovina Akpan , in cold blood over a quarrel she had with his father. The sad incident which happened at Idio Nung Iba Village, Etim Ekpo Local Government Area of the state, has continued to send shock waves down the spines of residents who cannot fathom why the young man would commit such an atrocious crime against his own mother. The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Cordelia Nwaiwe , while parading the teenager, said the parents were separated with the boy living with the father in Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State, and only came to see the mother and it was on such a visit that he murdered his mother and dumped her body in a pit toilet before going back to meet his father.
